Call for Proposals: SOTL Poster Session
On behalf of Indiana University's Office of the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education you are cordially invited to submit a proposal for a poster presentation about recent scholarship of teaching and learning research and to be a part of Bloomington's 7th Annual SOTL Poster Session.

The annual poster session is an informal and interactive way to recognize and celebrate the richness and complexity of a scholarly community dedicated to using evidenced-based practices to understand and improve teaching and learning both within their departments and schools and across disciplines as well. This is the last SOTL event of the academic year and provides local scholars a chance to share their projects, acknowledge each other's accomplishments and hold cross-disciplinary conversations in order to build upon each other's findings and to seek out future collaborations.
Poster presentations provide an ideal way to exchange information, to learn about new and innovative work-in progress, and to preview on-going research projects that might not yet be complete, but which present preliminary results already interesting. Posters are usually a concise combination of pictures and text arranged in an aesthetic manner for easy and informational viewing. Authors should be present to answer questions and discuss.
Guidelines:
- Submit a 250-word abstract of your poster to sotl@indiana.edu by April 14, 2009.
- Please include your name, title, department, address, phone number, email address, and poster title.
- We would like to encourage poster submissions that are based on recent SOTL work, including work-in-progress.
- Abstracts will be reviewed based on originality, significance, quality, and clarity.
- Notifications will be emailed on April 17, 2009
- Poster size should be no larger than 48" x 48".
- Poster stands and poster board will be provided. You may also provide your own poster backing.
- Presenters should be in attendance during the session, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. If you would like to submit a poster and cannot be present, please note that in your proposal so we can make appropriate arrangements.
- Posters must be setup by 11:30 a.m. and must be removed at the conclusion of the session at 1:30 p.m.
- Submit an electronic version of the poster following the presentations.
